AnaPana / Breathing meditation for Worldy Success
'AnaPana Sati' is a Pali language term which simply means 'staying mindful of the breath'
Purpose: To develop concentration (samadhi) and awareness (sati), leading to deeper insights. But here you need not to get caught into higher realizations. (You would naturally brainstorm and get answers to deal with real problems. This is not the main goal though.)
You need to sit down and pay attention to the breath at the area of nose where air/ breath touches naturally. *Do not force the process, just observe it as naturally happening.
Key aspects here: Come to the breath whenever your mind wonders to any other thoughts whether it is good or bad, When you realize that mind is not at the breath, without being sorry (this is important) again focus on the breath.
Do not wrestle with the thoughts, let them go/ignore and come to the (observe) breath. Keep practicing it for hour or half hour daily.
How it is good for daily or in materialistic life:
In real world, there would be many distractions including our own thoughts, using same practice, you have to come back to the work or task you are doing, whenever you realize your attention was distracted. You don't need to be sorry if mind wonders, just come back to the task. [ When you are doing actual things, pay attention to the task/work when you come back from distraction, do not spend much time on the breath when you are working because main goal here is the task or work you are doing right now.]
What attitude might be there: It's like you care nothing other than the task you are doing at the moment.
Daily formal practice of 1 hr may lead you to become focused like a Ninja. You can also apply this practice when you have nothing to do or want to get asleep as soon as possible.
Here, there are no rituals or sectarian concepts, we just need to deal with mind i.e breath. So, it's good for anyone. You can sit on chair or ground to do this.
Anyone, please free to DM me for more clarification if needed.
Above practice would also help to manage anger issues or at the time of dealing with difficult people.
Main core of every type of meditation is to ' observe' than 'to react'. And it can be applied in real/worldly life too.
But, in current context, this concentration is aimed at achieving success in work which seems worldly but still important for layman.
All other benefits are just by product of it.
